This is the first example of one of these units which I have had the opertunity to examine closely. I bought this unit about a month ago on ebay and it made a good, quick restoration project. This unit was offered as a #63 and the 12" saw was offered on a different base as a #67. I believe that these were made prior to 1928, mainly due to the fact that my 28 catalog does not mention that they were a new item at that time. The scroll saw on this particular unit is of the later 1928 version, so I assume that it is at least that late. The last listing for these is in the 1930 Delta catalog, but I'm not sure if they were offered after that. With the new #700 scroll saws introduced in 1931 these would have seemed obsolete after that time. I have not checked out the motor yet, but it doesn't seem to be in running condition. I am working on finding someone who is equiped to rewind it so that the unit will run again. Other than that, the unit was in fairly good original condition. I really like these small units as they are easy to display and my wife will let me keep a couple such items in plain sight in our home. If anyone has any other info one these types of units or any questions, please feel free to contact me. Thanks.
