Comments:
This saw is located in an old cabinet shop outside Pittsburg, PA, the home town of the manufacturer [actually, the reseller], Tranter Manufacturing Co. The saw table is 37" wide x 43" deep. The insert is approximatly 20" x 6" and can accomodate a 16" blade. The motor is a direct drive 3ph. The table is quite heavy but in remarkably good condition and no rust. The miter gauge is very basic and appears original. The base of the saw has surface rust and needs cleaning and paint. Notice from the pictures that the table is removed and for some reason the saw has two blades mounted, a 16" and a 13". The arbor is 1".
[Edited 2013-04-17 by historian to correct the manufacturer from Tranter to G&L. Original posting date was 2004.]
