Comments:
This is the last of the light duty shapers using the same castings as the Homecraft, 43-120 and 43-122 LD shapers. It uses the same top casting and spindle knuckle assy that the old models use. The raise/lower lever assy is present. The first difference in this model is the motor is mounted below the table, not behind it. It takes a special face mount motor. Second, the spindle bearing housing is threaded and tapered to take the standard Porter Cable 1/4 and 1/2 inch router bit collets. This makes the spindles (1/2 and 3/4 were available) unique to this model and will not fit the older shapers. It uses the same classic fence as the older models do. I like it because of the ability to use the P-C router collets. This is not really a "classic" tool, but I feel that it's features make it a model worth looking out for.
