I acquired this from an elderly, recently widowed woman. I don't know any of the history. It came with a hall quick collet system as well as a 3 jaw independent chuck and a 16" faceplate. At some point in the past an electric motor and 4 speed transmission were added. It took me 3 months to restore it and everything is functional. It still works beautifully and I use it often. Stamped in the end of the bed says patent date April 10, 1894. Based on the serial number, it would have been manufactured in 1903. There is as attached bronze or brass cast plate that bears the name of the machinery dealer that sold it. They were based in San Fransisco.
