Comments:
I purchased this machine from the back of a scrap truck in Seattle in about 2000. I have since rebuilt it including the following: new arm, all new bushings, new brasses in the saw frame, new main shaft and gear, & repacked coolant pump. The foot pedal is for lifting the arm and saw frame, it didn't have one so I built it. I didn't like the clamping mechanism on the vice so I built an over-center one. I also didn't like the very narrow table that was stock so I've built out-riggers on both sides of the table to better support the stock as it is cut. The vice has a rather poor mechanism for keeping perpendicularity to the saw blade (a single clamping bolt) so I built a brace/back stop to fit on the cutting side out-rigger that supports the stock during the cutting stroke of the saw, preventing the blade from pulling the vice out of square. It’s not a heavy duty saw, but I’m really rather fond of it and like to use it. It’s remarkably fast.
