Just aquired this lathe from a fellow outside Pittsburgh, Pa.. He aquired the lathe from Washington Jefferson College. It came with several tool rests, chucks, a variety of collets, tooling, and the original brass oilers which has been changed too zerk fittings. The lathe is in excellent shape with only a few holes added when someone converted it nicely too electric power. I assume the college converted it from line shaft too electric power as the owner said he got it this way!. There are two tags on the bed....one says P.Blaisdell &Co, Maker, Worchester Mass. and the other tag is at the other end of the bed and says U.Baird Machinery Co., Pittsburgh, Pa. The bed length is 73" and one of the legs has a 15 cast into it!. Any information as too history would be greatly appreciated.
