Comments:
I acquired this machine from a fellow who had it stored outside on the ground and protected only by a loose fitting shower curtain tarp. There were weeds growing up through the base on that rainy day in February 2003 when I picked it up. As you can see from the before photo, it was in need of lots of TLC. One interesting thing about this saw is that the table (already removed in the before photo) was the original one sold with the saw. Over the next several months I proceded to strip, clean, and repaint the machine. I even speckle painted it to match the original color scheme. The saw turned out so well that I decided to build a mobile enclosed stand for it as well. The project was finally completed in late Spring of 2003.
I reproduced the damaged decals using new artwork that I laser printed on applique film. It was a laborious process (and limited to black) so I would welcome input from fellow OWWM members on a better way to reproduce genuine decals, especially those using multiple colors.
