A CL purchase it appears to have been always used in a machine shop environment as it was very grimy but not too rusty. This turned out to be a very easy machine to work on by design as everything is simple to disassemble with minimal tools. The motor looked a little plain to me at first but I grew to appreciate it after disassembling and cleaning it up. It is a sleeve motor which I didn't think before this would work on a drill press. It was very dirty evidence of many years of use but basically like new in terms of wear. I added the button switch and bracket as it had no switch. The finish is original and I decided to leave it since it is relatively clean some rust still left but without a spot light it doesn't show. It is so smooth and quiet that all you can hear is the belts when it is running! Another nice feature is the motor mount pivots up for fast belt moves.
