I wanted a large size table saw, so I searched Ebay and found one for sale close to home. It was a walker-turner (who I never heard of) so I searched the web an came upon this site. The saw had and extra large table top 32.5" deep and 45" wide so I bid on it. Got it for $107.50. I have taken a number of photos of the rebuild if anyone would be interested. Although the saw looked rough it had very little use, about 5% wear on the contact points. The acme threads showed no wear at all. the tilt screw and nut were perfect. I disassembled every bolt and nut though out the saw and cleaned/buffed every part. I noticed there was no greese fitings, so I installed 12 of these. The abor bearings turned very free, but sounded kind of dry so I replaced these with sealed bearings. I sanded and painted the cabinet with matched paint. I covered the extentions with malmac and waxed the entire surface with paste wax. I enstalled a 2hp Dayton moter as this was 3-phase which I do not use. The fence was rebuilt to my likeing and works great. I then installed a switch box with a common 110 plugin, that is on all the time. I find this very handy.
I have just built a new shop and will add more (stuff) to the saw as time goes by. I have a Excalibur saw guard that is going on it soon. Then a sliding table, as this saw is just made for it, due to its extra large table size. I have put some before and after pics here, so if anyone has any questions or would like to talk saws or woodworking email me. would love to hear from you. gerry
