Comments:
Found this for sale online in Toronto for a very reasonable price and purchased it in 2013. Photos are as found. Owner bought from older gentleman down the street a little over a year previously but knew no history. Machine appears to be used to considerable extent but is more or less intact, except for missing fence and mitre gauge and pulley cover and maybe a knob or 2 got switched out somewhere along the way. It has a new 3/4 hp motor wired for 110 v on a custom heavy gauge plate metal stand. Motor is suspended, using own weight + spring as tensioner, and an extra large pulley modification was also performed ( see additional photos ). There are some brazed fixes to repair the broken cast iron in 2 places.

The saw ran fine as is but was bought with possible future restoration/aftermarket modifications in key areas ( possibly change belt/pulley configuration, new flywheel belts and blade guide assemblies, etc. ) also in mind. Thanks to all prior posters of this make/model as that assisted greatly in decision to invest in this machine and I was also able to secure copies of original spec sheet, manual and parts list also on this site. I salute you accordingly - much appreciated ! Update: June 2014 - the saw has been sold to a nice young man who will use this as his starter band saw. I never did upgrade anything on it and just used it as was during the time I had it. Those decisions are now his...

Comments: note brazing repairs to broken female trunnion and lower blade guide assembly. This shot also shows true colour to be a deeper blue/green than typically associated with General tooling and is apparently confined to select saws from this vintage only

Comments: badge plates on front upper flywheel housing - Ford Machinery Supply appears to have originally retailed this saw...they opened for business in 1936 and are still going today so had to give them a "shout-out" accordingly !
