Have no ideal what it was used for. Any Help? I picked it up from a University Surplus Sale. It came out of the Electrical Eng. Dept. and had been sitting in the basement for many yrs. The school is fixing to tear down the old building and build a new Elec. Eng. building. So some odd thin gs are being sent to the surplus sale.
Its 115v, 8 amps, I assume each motor is making 1 hp?? Ive searched the net and unable to find anything like it. Ive found a number of Crocker Wheeler motors but none like this one. The two brass plates on top have ser. #'s that are one digit off. It looks as if two 1 hp motors were tied together for some reason. There is nothing on the ends that would let you attach anything to it.
12-13-13 It looks as if its a voltage regulator. A gentleman emailed after he saw the pictures. Suggested application was for the telegraph systems back in the day
Any information would be great.
