These images appeared on the front page of "American Machinist" on March 12, 1891. This grinder was one of the first machines produced by the Leland, Faulconer, & Norton Co. It was undoubtedly designed by Charles H. Norton, who later became famous with his grinder designs. This machine was furnished with a countershaft, and was designed to run the wheels at 300 to 310 RPM. It was equipped with "drip irrigation" much like that found on later grinders made by Oliver and Mummert-Dixon. No weight was quoted, but it must have been substantial!
