Here is a 1975 Rockwell/Delta Unisaw Model # 34-466. (Right tilt)
This saw saw service in a High School in Florida.
Orginally fitted with a 3ph 3hp motor...I have since converted it over to a single phase 3 hp unit.
The Saw was torn down completely and the cabinet was sand blasted inside & out.
Any holes that were not stock were welded/filled and ground smooth by a local body shop, and finally the saw was painted with Krylon "Smoke Grey" (Again inside & out)
In addition...I have installed a LVC system and although the saw isn't finished, a new Delta LVC switch will be installed also.
A brand new Marathon 3 hp motor will take the place of the old tired 3 ph unit, and all nuts and bolts were replaced with brand new stainless steel hardware. (Along with new drive belts as well)
It will also sport a new Biesemeyer 50 " commercial duty fence..and also have the table extension fitted as well.
A new motor cover will be purchased...and the saw will be hooked up to Dust Collection.
I have included a "before" picture on this one...an almost finished pic...and a final photo will be posted when restoration is completed later.
Update Note* Nov 04/04
The saw is now fully restored and as you can see, it is sporting a Beisemeyer 50" commercial fence(With all accessories) and an Osborne EB3 Miter gauge.
It also has dust collection, an early style NOS Rockwell Uniguard and a custom mobile Delta base.
These saws are well worth the time and effort to restore properly.
A great saw...ready for many more years of woodworking!
