The picture is from the 1920s, and shows the roundhouse machine shop of the Sandy River & Rangeley Lake Railroad. A hand-drawn floor plan shows only one drill press, and an inventory shows that they owned a Lather & Morse drill press. As of this writing, the photo and inventory are the only known evidence of this maker. The photo appeared in the Robert C. Jones book, "Two feet between the rails."
The drill press was probably scrapped when the railroad went under in 1936.
