I bought this Bridgeport vertical milling machine in 2009. It had been in un-heated storage for 2-3 years prior and most of the exposed metal surfaces had started to rust. Over the next year, I totally dismantled the machine and refurbished it completely back to essentially new condition.
Some details on the mill:
- 2HP, 3-phase VariSpeed drive
- ABB frequency drive (VFD)
- 9" x 48" power table (X-axis)
- 2-axis DRO (X, Y)
- quill DRO (Z)
- chrome ways
- Bijur 1-shot lube system
- 6" mill vice with swivel base
- Model E rear-mounted shaping head (rare) ... a $7,200 option when new!
- custom built Allen Bradley control panel with remote knee-mounted e-stop and tool holder
- power knee (Z-axis)
- power drawbar (pneumatic)
- twin Dazor 1102 40" machine lights

I built this Allen Bradley control panel below the DRO to bring all of the controls to one handy place. I added a tach to the spindle and mounted the digital readout in the top left corner. The top right readout is the ABB VFD remote control

This Model E Shaper attachment is a rare item. I guess because these were a $7,200 option! I see them on eBay going for $1,800 - $2,400 from time to time.
