There's nothing that runs quite as smooth as a nice heavy Baldor grinder. The 1 HP, 1,800 RPM motor on this one takes a minute to wind up and once it does, you barely know its running. Absolutely no vibration. This grinder is heavy at 260 lbs with the optional cast iron pedestal. I added a pair of vintage Rockwell lighted eye shields that I had kicking around. I keep 2 stones on it and use mostly for hand sharpening large drill bits and lathe cutters.
