According to the previous owner his dad brought this home from Carnegie Mellon University. They were closing up a shop and all the big stuff was busted up and sold for scrap...the smaller stuff like this grinder made it's way home. He inherited it from his father, but had no use for it, so now it's mine.
Note: It was confirmed by Rich Fink at Eagle, Carnegie Mellon University was the original owner, purchasing the grinder in 1949.

Pretty complete just lacking the tool holder and optional safety shield for the rear emery wheel.

Spigot feeds the coolant (kerosene) from the reservoir above to the inside of the 300 RPM wheels where it is pulled through the wheel to the grinding surface by centrifugal force. Which is kinda cool.
