I acquired this gem a few years ago from a farmer out near eckville Alberta. The story goes. Back in the 80s or early 90s a gentleman was bringing the bandsaw across Canada from the east and heading through Alberta to BC to live. After having some kind of trouble, I am assuming vehicle related. He could not take the bandsaw any further and made arrangements with a farmer to keep it at his place until he returned the following year to pick it up. Well 10 or more years passed and the farmer was selling his land. He figured that the bandsaw should be sold and advertised it in the local paper as Huge old bandsaw. Just what I needed. I was just getting into larger turnings and needed a bandsaw to round out bowl blanks. When I went to see it I fell in love with the idea of restoring this saw. The only catch to fulfilling this idea was that I needed to move it that day if I wanted it. You see the land title was to be changed to the new owners in only a few hours of when we went out to see this bandsaw, agin this farmer had sold his land. All we had with us was a few wrenches to take the table off and two straps to help get it in a 3/4 ton truck. Needless to say even with 4 men and determination it still took us 4 hours to load it and I have a bent up tailgate on my truck to prove it is heavy. I use the saw almost every day. Smooth Quiet and a joy to own. I put back the motor that came with the saw as soon as I had 3 Phase. 3HP motor. I think the motor was added later
I would love more tools from Clark and Demil
