I picked this up off of my uncle who bought it from a place that dealt with food processing.
Based on the shavings and bits inside though I don't think it was ever used for cutting meat. It had a bunch of wood and metal shavings. The upper and lower guides appear to have been rewelded. All major parts are labeled with F#, the frame itself is F the upper cover is F2 the lower is F3 so on and so on. The bottom cover plate has a big letter V molded into the part.
I noticed a logo buried under the paint and have been working on cleaning it up. Unfortunately with info revealed a quick google search has led me nowhere.
From what I can make out so far it's a shield, across the top of the shield it says "Qualitas est Prime" and then at the bottom in the shield is "Chicago, USA"
Update!
I worked more on revealing the logo. What I took for vertical stripes on a banner turned out to be letters. So the Saw says Jim Vaughan and has a huge V molded in the lower panel. So it looks like it's indeed a Jim Vaughan Meat Saw.
Update 2.
Just got some info from a very helpful person, who provided me with some Patent numbers that very closely match the saw.
www.google.com/patents/US2007458
www.google.com/patents/US2101343
The patent was filed for Vaughan so I guess it does make it a Vaughan saw. I don't see that listed as an available manufacturer here though, so many someone else actually did the building for Vaughan on them. Either way, thanks for the info Matt!
