I acquired this machine from a small furniture manufacturer outside Greensboro, NC. It was painted battleship grey and had been used, 3 phase power. It had the original motor, a 3 hp Wagner 1750 rpm, but the motor had burned out. I replaced the motor with a new 3 hp 3 phase motor adding a phase converter to provide variable blade speed. I took all the old paint off and had to weld 2 stress cracks in the frame. I added a plywood & plastic laminate cap to the table which provides a fence, a rabbet for a miter gage or other accessories and a break in the table top so that it still tilts as originally intended. I added casters. The machine weighs roughly 1,300 lbs (I think). It appears to have been designed to accommodate either the original electric motor I found on it or a hydro powered belt drive.
