This Racine Junior "Draw Cut Saw" was spotted at a local flee market. (I hesitated too long, and someone else bought it.) It would have been a fun restoration project!

The machine has suffered some wear and tear. The lift arm broke off at some point . . . you can see it laying on the ground under the machine. Because there was no lift arm, someone allowed the saw to cut all the way through a stop that normally protrudes from the frame to the cutoff side of the blade area. You can see the damage in the top photo just about even with and below of where the hold down clamp sits.

Having discovered this model of saw, I got curious and did some searching on the internet. I found a few more sample photos of Racine Junior saws, along with some articles in trade journals dating to 1922 when the machine debuted. I'll post copies of those in the publications and/or images for the Racine Tool & Machine Co.
