Comments:
Nameplate states patented in 1904 I purchased this press in the early 1980's from a company that made formed plywood seating and assume it was used by them for bent laminations. I've since cut down the size to 3-1/5 feet between posts, added forklift pockets and made the height adjustable to accommodate different projects. I don't use it often but when I do it is really a joy to use. The last project I used it for was a 45' mast for a sailing yacht using 14" Skives to join components end to end. The pads are about 6" diameter and are capable of applying tremendous pressure.
