This was my first foot powered woodworking machine purchased from a collector's garage sale, July 2008 . It has repairs and parts not original to this saw. The seat and stem are 21st Century reproductions. No known history for this red oval pedal scroll saw that shows a low percentage for the pinstriping.

The questionable 1890 date is based on my selected readings in Kimball Finkenstaedt's unpublished Barnes company history. W.F. And John Barnes Company, A Corportate Biography 1872-1964, Compiled and written by Kimball L. Finkenstaedt, 1964 (unpublished) R 977.331 Fin, Rockford Local History Room, Rockford Public Library, Rockford, Illinois.
