This was offered to me to buy. I was sent a few pictures and information that it was a th48 with a 48" bed, with all the change gears. It was at a farm close enough to make an appointment to inspect it.
I did and it turns out it is
A Seneca Falls (name in casting) 13" x 6'(size in casting)
Subsequently I have done a general search for a Seneca th48. No success. On http://www.lathes.co.uk The web site lists a 10"-12"& 14" but no 13"
The machine has two additional badges - H.A.Smith Syracuse NY (Seller/Distributor) located on the front right leg. Berkeley Equipment Co. Corry PA. Serial # 1658 Located on the rear drive mount. Berkeley was apparently a manufacturer of drive assemblies. There is a web reference to Berkeley as badgeing another drive assembly on an unidentified lathe.
This lathe is in very good condition and has been maintained well. Oil cups on the head have been replaced with grease fitting. It was equipped with a 11" OD chuck.
It is to large for me, but it was well worth the trip. A true pleasure to see.
