I acquired this jointer after the passing of my father. I don't really know the history other than my father has had it since 1969. I am looking for parts to restore the old jointer like new. I need the cutting head guard, and the front handle.
I have not been able to fine out much about this machine the serial # 28-4543 is not an easy one to find anyplace. I do know that this jointer looks like 37-205 or 37-207 depending on which stand I can find. I'm also not real sure of the manufacturing date.
I am delighted to find this group and enjoy all of the stories and photos.
All photos of this jointer are shown here: http://www.budgetlighting.com/shop-tools/index.html
04/10/05 Update: I have finally found most of the parts I need. Except the cutting guard and the front handle. I got the stand, motor, chip chute and on/off rod from a real nice guy from ebay who was going to part everything out but I got him to sell me everything.
I'm in the process of sandblasting the old stand and painting it.

If anyone has information on how to change the bearings I would be grateful to get it. The old bearings are loud and noisy.

This project is almost done. Bearings have been replaced, painting is complete and new balanced cast iron pulleys have installed. All I need now is a porkchop cutting head guard, and a front lower handle. I could have painted every thing the lighter color gray but I thought a contrast by using machine gray would highlite the jointer better.
