Quite an old one i think, but it has been heavily modified at some point. There is a re-conditioning plate fitted by A. Whitehead, who i suspect made most of the modifications, possibly including motorising it as this looks professionally done.
Modifications are:
- Changed from plain bearings to ball bearings, with ball bearings mounted in new pillow blocks
- I presume it once had a square cutter block, it now has a 2 knife round one.
- It has been motorised, not a bad thing, but in doing so the feed works have been altered and it has lost its 3 speed thicknessing ability, only the lowest speed is now available. When i return it to flat belt drive, i will correct this.

Looking over the motor towards the modified feedworks pulleys, im not entirely sure how this once was.
