This is part of a collection of Vintage Machinery located in an old water powered grist mill in Lewis County. NY.
The mill operated as a feed mill until the 1970's. Most if not all of the mills drive system still exists in excellent condition.
The previous owner, acquired this collection and filled one floor of the mill wall to wall.
Everything appears to be in excellent condition and immediately operable.
The property, water rights, buildings and the mill with its contents were purchased by its current owner Ross Phelps.
It is with his permission that this and many other pieces of equipment are posted.
I dated this based on visual comparisons with other examples on VM.
Early examples have 4 legged decorative open lattice bases, and later examples have the industrial mono block base.
Patent Reference is to 52,219 Jan 23, 1866
The substance of the patent was "The present invention consists in so arranging the cutter-heads of a wood-tenoning machine that while they can be adjusted with regard to each other to any thickness of tenon, they can be after such adjustment brought to any position with regard to the end of the board or plank upon which they are to operate."
