The Lathe came from the Rio Vista high machine shop class. I went to Rio Vista High from 1976 and graduated in 79. The Rockwell 14in Lathe was made in 1972 and by the time I was in school the Lathe was already broken. The story was that some student a year or two before I got there was a little ruff with the Lathe and broke a couple gears in it. The lathe sat for many years before my friend got it and then sat for about another 7 years in my friends shop. The lathe has not ran in about 40 years. I still remember back at school always wanting to run the Rockwell but could not. Now someday soon I hope that will all change. I have had a few lathes over the years but the fact that the Rockwell came from the school that I first started my Passion for old tools makes it very special.
