Comments:
Purchased the machine in College Station, TX in 2012 from a local OWWMer. It was painted red, was running but was in need of care. Franklin 3/4 HP motor with squeaky bearings. the pork chop was missing.
It was completely disassembled, old paint and rust removed, painted with Rustoleum custom mix (gray with a hint of brown and green), bearing were replaced, porkchop guard made of plywood, missing doors made out od sheet aluminum and painted. I installed a new old Westinghouse manual motor starter, and a home-made mobile base. It had a set of dull knives that were too thick according to specs - They turned out to be Hesston &Anderson knives. New set from Woodworkers Toolworks was ordered, finally installed today. Runs nice, except my mobile base is rolling too easily.
It will be a nice addition to my garage, until now I have been jointing and surface planing by hand (Stanley #7 and a European all-wood 27" jointer plane).
