I found this jointer in an online listing. The seller had it listed as a jointer for wood and metal. He hadn't really used it at all, but he was an accomplished machinist, which is what he did professionally, and he had just finished building a giant CNC machine in his home shop. This thing as about as large as a king size bed. He had designed it so that he could either use a plasma cutter for sheet metal or put in a router and carve wood. It was very interesting to meet him.
The jointer is nice and very heavy. I don't have a proper base for it right now, but eventually I will either find or build something. The fence has been cracked in the aluminum compass section and whoever welded it back together was not overly careful about restoring the alignment of the components. For that reason, I have not put too much time into fixing this up, although there may be a solution possible with shims. One nice part of this jointer is that it has the guard, but like many of these, the little narrow stock attachment has gotten lost.
