I think this is the only piece of machinery that I have purchased from Ebay. I bought this Baldor 12" grinder from Robert Ivens Machinery Company (RIMCO) in Milwaukee. I called them and spoke with Matthew there before making the purchase and I even had Dan drive over and look at it for me. It had been listed as a 10" grinder which I thought was suitable for a possible rucker. However, after scrutinizing the pictures and comparing them with the 1955 price list photos from this site, I determined that it was actually a 12" grinder, which meant that it weighed close to 300#. I also thought that for the asking price, it made it an even better deal, and so I went ahead and bought it and we used a freight service to get it to my town. Matthew and I made a side deal to split the shipping costs because his estimate on Ebay was way too low. A few weeks later it arrived. It was even larger than I had imagined. When I wentto the freight depot to pick it up, they realized that there was no easy way to dismantle the crate and grinder into manageable size parts to load it into my car, so they just offered to bring it to my car with a truck that had a lift gate and a pallet jack. A few days later it was in my garage. Just two weeks ago I made a purchase that included the period correct Baldor cast iron stand for this one, so I am very happy with how it all worked out. Thanks to Dan Grade, Matthew at Baldor, and Midwest Motor Express freight depot.
