This classy old flat belt lathe with V-ways on the bed and a nice set of legs was a local purchase. It had a shop built motor mount, which they used to run a V-Belt over the flat step pulleys. That has been pulled, and I intend to turn a matching set of flat belt step pulleys for this so it can be set up again with a proper jack shaft. It came with a pair of banjos and some tool rests, but they were not original to the machine (vintage Walker-Turner items in Craftsman colors). I'll be on the lookout for something that looks more period correct.
Not much is known about Western Electric badged machines. It might be a re-badged machine made by some other firm. One conjecture was that Western Electric might have sold machines for a time as a way of promoting the use of electricity and electric motors. Whatever the story is, its a classic old lathe, and I'm looking forward to having it running in the shop.
