This machine currently resides in the machine shop where I work. It is never used and probably hasn't been used in 30 years. It may be a Yates- American machine and not actually a Brodhead Garrett machine. I am currently very unclear about the relationships between J-line badged machines and Yates American and Brodhead Garrett. There are only two other entries similar to this saw in the archives right now and they are both in the Yates American listing, so this may need to be categorized. In any case, the machine shop has been having a turf war with other departments because they have a lot of space and everybody at the university seems to want more space. To avoid having any of his space reallocated, the head of the shop keeps all of this cool old machinery around, even though they pretty much only use about a half dozen machines of the thirty or so in there. For that reason, this jig saw is staying put.
