I have a weak spot for odd and unusual machines. This little Gibraltar "Saw Matic Model 400" fits the bill perfectly. It has a primitive build which would suggest it is quite a bit older, but this machine actually dates to 1953 or so. The top is only 11" x 14". The fence uses a simple clamp design to tighten against the front edge of the table. The motor hangs off the back and sits on hinged rails.

This saw bears a striking resemblance to some of the Marcus Pollak saws (See also American Machine & Tool Co., Inc.), however there is no known connection between the companies.
