I bought this because although I did not really need or want a tilt top table saw for a specific use, I thought it would make a good restoration project. However, I really liked the motor, which is why I ultimately purchased this. I think that this 1hp 1725 RPM single phase motor will be the perfect motor for my Davis and Wells 14" band saw. I might even be able to use this stand, which would be an interesting combo. My guess is that it would put the band saw table too high, but it could still work, perhaps. I normally take close up pictures of the machine badges so that I can check the serial numbers, but on this one I neglected to do that. I will update this entry when I get another picture of this saw. I have not disassembled this saw at all aside from taking the rails off, removing the table for transporting it, and dismantling the bolt together stand. When I purchased this I had just missed out on buying a complete one of these combo units that included the jointer and everything was absolutely complete and perfect on it. I think it had been a pre-1940 unit also and it sold for $65. I started looking a little harder for one after that and this was the next one up.
