Got this for cheap at a yard sale with the two mortising chisel bits. I mostly wanted the bits, I already have a mortising set and I doubted this would fit either of my non-Sears drill presses (as indeed it does not). The ID at the quill end appears to be 1 11/16. I'm guessing the year by the Craftsman bronze paint job.
