This is a basic 12" Craftsman disc sander. The motor on it as purchased was not original, but I found the original motor in the seller's shed and brought that home as well. This seems to be a very well built machine. I also learned a tough lesson involving removing broken bolts. At least, I learned one way not to ever try doing it again. I slightly damaged the remaining threads in the cast iron. I didn't mind trashing the remains of the broken bolt, but the hole will need to be retapped now, probably for larger bolts. I haven't damaged too many of my machines and I suppose there is a learning process involved for all of this stuff, but it bothered me for quite a while to see that I had caused a small bit of damage. I just need to clean up the rest of the machine and change the bearings in the motor and this one will be ready to roll. This did not come with a miter gauge. The only part of this machine that I find fault with are the flimsy little bolts that act as supports for the rear of the motor. At least one of these is bent, and I think a more sturdy and solid system could be devised for this. I think this one may end up as a bench top machine, although I would love to pedestal mount it.
