I purchased this machine from a retired automotive garage owner in Norfolk VA. It had come from his dad's workshop and he believes it may have originally been at one of the local shipyards. As some former owner had used a 6 inch thick block of solid mahogany as a riser block between the pillar and production base I suspect he is correct about that.

I have e-mailed the Charles B. Allen Co with the SN to see if further information is available. I'll update if more I learn more. Interestingly, this company still makes drilling machines.
