Bandsaw was bought by my father from a auction (closing factory probably). Payed +/- $80 for it. Machine was is bad condition, many parts badly worn and needing rebuilding. Bearings seized on spindles. Completely stripped and rebuilt, shafts sleeved and brazed. Wheels re-machined and trued.
Machine has original fence and a Auto Set mitre gauge which is rare to find in South Africa. Lamp is from the same period, but from unknown machine, I just modified it to fit. Modern switch box utilized. All screws and parts zinc plated as original, Fence rails re-chromed and Zamak knobs nickel plated. I tried my best to bring the machine back to it's original condition. Resources are very limited here in South Africa, but overall very pleased with the outcome.
Original motor still runs like the day it was made. This machine was saved from the scrap dealers pretty much. Rebuilding the West one part at a time.
