Was heading off to a garage sale at a bad end of town as far as finding old tools go. One of those areas that usually have just broken plastic junk, kids toys that don't work and boxes of old outdated computer cables. Came around a corner and next to the sale was some guy who had drug out an old radial arm saw into the alley. He saw his neighbor having a sale and thought he could unload the two for some beer money to garage a sailing sucker like me. I only wanted the lathe so he gave me a real deal. I am sure he appreciated my enthusiasm about it. I could tell though that he was not the type to get sentimental about old tools like I do. He just wanted it out of his shop. After we loaded it up and I was about to leave he piped up to wait as he just remembered there were some other parts that went with it. Like an idiot I was in a hurry and never even thought to ask if there were other parts for it around. Dumb mistake that I rarely make but did this time. Luckily I was saved by his memory. It is amazing what people can remember if you give them a little time. Thus he drug out the three face places which I am sure are original and the chisel rest which I don't think is original for some reason. Last time I used a wood lathe was in school and I don't remember much about it. In fact I barely remember much of my school days but I aint saying why. My guess this gem would have eventually been land-filled so it was good timing. Not really sure what I am going to do with it as I am not much of a wood lathe guy but it goes well here with all my other vintage junk.

At first I thought it was an older model but maybe it was just a cheaper model than the 3400? At the same time the oiler cup pretty well dates it back there.

The small face plate is iron and has a beaver sticker on it. The white iron plate has Beaver embossed into the back side. The large one is aluminum and no markings but the finish seems the same as the small one.

The paint on these match the body of the lathe so am assuming they are original

This is the Tamper motor that came with it. paint on it matches the rest but could have been done after it was sold. Motor runs smooth as usual
