I picked this up 6/01/13 in the Rochester NY area. It was on CL and identified as a W.F.&John Barnes DP(Name in casting) Price started very high and I watched until it was in my range. The only history provided was that the owner was a plumber.
When I got it home I gave it a quick 409 treatment. The name in the casting was very hard to make out. Based on the number of letters in the words and the spacing, it did not add up to a Barnes. I grave rubbed it and added a few letters and clarified the spacing. End of story it is a Lindgren.
Everything is present with a few quality repairs. Not sure if the Spindle Feed Handle is original. Paint appears to be the first and only coat. No badge. Table has no holes or arc of shame. It has a chain counter balance system for the spindle. The chain is "bicycle type links" (rivets are hand peaned) and the counter balance is not dead weight. It is a spring secured on the underside of the base. Not believed to be original. Other example submitted by Michael Salvatore has a dead weight system. This is a robust design with lubrication access every where.
The motor is single phase,(which I now know you can "just plug it in") 1160 RPM (Slow Speed) It is a "The Master tm" Manufactured by The Master Cutter Machine Co. Cincinnati Ohio U.S.A. All of this information refers to the product it was originally used on and the Company who made it. The Master was trade marked for a Coffee Grinder sold to grocers. OEM believed to be Westinghouse.
As configured The Spindle speeds are --- Spindle RPM 110 130 220 370 440
Intend to keep the tan color. Will post finished product.
