Found this and another small grinder locally from CL. PO is an elderly gentleman who was a long time wood worker but is no longer able to do so. He bought this many years ago but has no history before that. This thing is surprizingly heavy at 14" tall and 17" wide and has a heavy cast base. This tool is not represented here and there is no other similiar grinder. A history search of this Mfg in St. Louis indicates a mfg of that name manufactured badges and other items for the Catholic Church but no mention of tools. Hopefully more history will be forth coming. The motor/grinder reads "Steiner Manufacturing Co., 1/6hp, 110/220v, single phase, motor#: A2184, Style# 95, factory#: 11095, Patent Nov 21, 1911 and Oct 21,1913. Runs smootly and very quiet.
Edit: After some research/discussion it is suspected this was possibly a repurposed machine and should be reclassified as "Other Maker". Thanks to Jeff for his help.
Edit: The original posting was on 5/22/13. At a recent local flea market I came across this specific motor and it was one part of a very large ornate coffee grinder.
ADMIN EDIT 2016-03-22: Patents are 1,009,596 and D44,775, for "Food-chopper" and "Design for a combined motor-housing and gear-case".

There is a 2" long door/flap on a spring hinge which is raised to add oil to a reservoir on either side.
