Picked this jointer up off of Craigslist. It was mostly complete and I liked that it used the old century repulsion start motor. I was told the motor sparked when it was run, and the previous owner wasn't comfortable running it. The cutter head is also missing gibbbs and gibb screws. Any body know where to find spares? It took a fork lift to get the jointer loaded into the back of the truck. When I got it home, I started stripping off the many layers of thick paint that had been applied over the years and started repainting. I even got the wife to help out with the pinstriping, masking and painting. The motor was an interesting rebuild. The centrifugal weight cavity of the rotor was so packed full of old saw dust that the entire mechanism had frozen solid, which prevented the carbon brushes from being pulled off and caused the sparking. Several hours of labor, a couple cans of penetrant later, it seems like it should work. I'll post more pictures as the restoration continues.
