Discussion of this machine here: http://owwm.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=128515
This was my first sighting of a Bend Iron Works jointer with intact labels. I do not own this machine. These jointers have been mistaken for Palmer D. Weeks jointers for a simple reason.
Palmer D. Weeks models were furnished with metal badges whereas the Bend Iron Works models had a decal affixed but no badges or tags. Over the decades they often were repainted, and so even though they all originated at the Bend Iron Works foundry, the asymmetry in labeling of these two brands obscured the true heritage of the BIW version. Knowing what I do I am inclined to identify all of these jointers that lack badges or holes where badges once may have been as Bend Iron Works machines.
