My father and uncle were in the bee business in Wewahitchka, FL for many years. I believe that they acquired this machine new. It appears to have been used very little. Sears only sold these machines for a couple of years in the early 50s. Because of the particular technology (I have previously seen information on this, but cannot recall where.) the blade oscillates quite rapidly. You can hardly tell it is moving. It cuts quite well. I was thinking of selling it, but have decided to keep it for the few times I might need a scroll saw.
