I came across this machine out of a Geelong (Victoria Australia) high school. It was being replaced due to OH&S requirements, namely the old lamb chop blade guard. There was a custom made guard for the belts which was removed for the photo. Dust extraction is just some sheet metal bent to direct the shavings out of the machine onto the ground (something I still need to improve!). The motor that was on it when I purchased it (3hp 3 phase) needed to be replaced with a 3hp single phase.
The machine was in good working order when I purchased it so it only really needed a good clean and a new paint job.
I would be interested in hearing more about the history.
Cheers
Michael
