Comments:
I wanted a small camelback DP, and in the space of a month I found two, both in excellent condition. This one has no manufacturer identification, but it has what appears to be a serial number stamped at the top of the upper way, and an embossed tag riveted to the underside of the table with what appears to be a date. I take that to be the manuf. date, but I am happy to be corrected if someone actually knows. The machine matches up with the historical images on the Worcester Polytechnic Institute/Washburn Shops web site, and with machines in this photo index. Other manufacturers (Francis Reed, Haysradt & Case, Barr)in the area made nearly identical machines after the school facility stopped production, but those are slightly larger.
This machine has no chuck and no belt, but is otherwise in splendid condition. I repainted it with Rustoleum black hammertone (makes an excellent surface) with bronze hammertone accents, and cleaned off a good bit of surface rust, but no meaningful rebuilding was needed. At present it is my wife's favorite plant stand. When I get a belt and a chuck there will need to be some negotiations.

Comments: This tag is under the table, and appears to be a date. I take that to be the born-on date.
