I saw this on CL in St. Louis. The tag shown in the posting was new to me and required some research. There was little to be found but it appears that McDonald Machinery Co, St. Louis, MO was primarily a "rebuilder" of machinery and thanks to some additional research on Jeff' part, it does not appear to have manufactured any tools, but was a Machinery dealer for LeBlond and especially their "Regal" lathe line. This lathe shares some characteristics with other manufacturers but no one manufacturer I can find shares them all. The tool rest is three tiered; the wheel locks: the horizontal castings on the head: the sanding table and an "SKF" decal on the head cover. So possibly this was reconstructed from other parts? The color might be a clue as well but nothing in the catalogs match. So if anyone knows what this is please enlighten me.
The bed is 72" long and the stand appears to be a Sears stand that has been lengthened. The Motor is a Century 1/4 horsepower single phase motor, 60 cycles and 1750 RPM. The owner has no history on this. He just wants to get it out of his music instrument store.
