These legs are from a wood and metal-spinning lathe as shown in an 1885 article (see third picture). Posting on behalf of the owner, Ray Muttart.

Ray reports that he obtained the legs from an estate sale. The deceased owner had had a habit of taking things apart and leaving them that way. By the time Ray came along, the rest of the lathe had been scrapped.

[Edited to correct the mistaken impression that the previous owner was already deceased when he was taking things apart.]
