Comments:
I purchased this drill press from a CL AD. The previous owner had bought it at an estate sale. It came with an old washing machine motor that was running backwards. I had a 1/3 HP Capacitor Start/Induction Run Delco Motor that I picked up at the same time as the drill press that I cleaned up to use with the press.

To put it back into service, the press was disassembled, cleaned, polished and painted. The column and tables were wire wheeled and polished a bit. I left some of the patina, as I figured an 80 year old should have some. There are a couple of holes on the table that I will fill with JB Weld at some point. The chuck key was on a chain and still attached to the machine. I discovered that this machine used a round leather belt so I used one that I had and a steel sheave I had lying about to put her back under power.

The asset tag indicates that the machine was used by the Sperry Gyroscope Co. Inc. of Greatneck, NY. A search online indicates that they made navigation equipment for ships. I plan to keep the machine in my shop for doing fine (sensitive) drilling.
